Post Paiste 22 Ride ??
Hi ! Ok here's my problem. I'm thinking about buying a Paiste ride, the problem is, i dont know wich one, i want at least a ride of 21 of diameter. I'm thinking about two ride: 2oo2 Power Ride or a Signature 21 Dry Heavy Ride... I know, two very different ride... But i love them both. C'mon gimme your opinion about these rides, (or other Paiste ride)

P.S I want want a HUGE bell on my ride

Peace

I've got a 22" dry heavy ride and I love it. I don't think you'd be disappointed in it.

First things first..no matter what ride cymbal you choose..you can never, never, NEVER (did I mention never?) go wrong with a 2002 or sig ride. Now picking a ride cymbal is a very serious issue..and must be dealt with very carefully (as the wrong ride cymbal will surely piss you off). Now for my opinions and suggestions...

If you are looking for a bright sounding ride with a nice wash..definitely go for the new 22" Sig Reflector "Powerslave" Ride.

If you want Dark and Dry go for the sig Dark Dry Ride (like you said) or the Blue bell ride. The blue bell is definitely Dark and Dry with minimal to no wash..and a nice defined ping. Also the blue bell looks good, and has a good sized bell which actually sounds like a bell, and is differentiated from the meaty part of the ride.

If you want a huge ass bell..then go for the 24" RUDE ECLIPSE Mega Bell Ride..that thing has the biggest bell of just about any cymbal..and is definitely made to take a pounding.

And lastly of you want brightness..but the all around greatness of a 2002..then I suggest a 2002 Wild Ride which comes in the brilliant finish and is a very versatile ride.

I'm going through the same thing. What I'm doing is buying used on ebay then when it's time to try a new one I sell the old and hopefully don't lose any money. This way I can live with a few for a while til I decide what it is I really like.

I just bought a really nice dimension dry ride. I really like that one.

I'm also selling a 20" Sig power ride. That thing is just a beast. Really nice sound but it just begs to be played louder and Louder and LOUDER! Just too much for me.

Good luck

I was gonna suggest that Eclipse ride thingy. Isn't that the John Dolmayan (System Of A Down) signature cymbal, if my memory serves me correctly?

I have a 22" Sig. Full ride and it is just that: full. Great loud, low pitched body with an intense, dark bell.

Dude the man wants a paiste ride!!! So no Zildjian or Sabian suggestions!! Sorry but my motto is Think Big! I would choose some newbies to the paiste family!! Like the 24" Paiste rude ride by John Dolmayan called the Eclipse! That thing has amazing power and force!! Also the Paiste Signature Stewart Copeland blue Bell Ride cymbal!! Those are monsterous witha glassy ping on the bell and also makes a powerful crash!

My instructor has a 22" sig sweet ride. I not much of a Paiste guy, but that things sings. The bell is clear and cuts, but without being harsh. It can fit into almost any situation too.

I got my 22" 2oo2 Power Ride for $70 @ Guitar center used.
Poor thing was covered in duct tape and needed some TLC, but no cracks, no keyhole and it sounds great.
