Right now i have a 14" and 17" A custom fast crash which i absolutely loveeeee. I was wondering if the hi-hat is the 14" mastersound, and the ride is the medium ping ride, these are the ones i was looking at anyway, and my local music store is selling it for 600$ which is a total deal

The hi-hats are regular A custom hi-hats. Not A-custom mastersounds. The difference is the A custom Mastersound hats have a rippled edge on the bottom hi-hat. This makes them more defined, cleaner and crisper sounding by letting air escape from them faster.

The ride is an A custom medium ride. Its not gonna be as thick, or defined and the ping ride will be. It'll have a washier sound to it.

I would go with the mastersound hi-hats without a doubt. I have them on my kit in 13" and 14" and they sound great. And I'd also go with the ping ride over a regular A-custom ride. Good taste my man.

I have the 18" Fast Crash and am VERY happy with it. I also have the 14" mastersound high hats and I am equally satisfied

If you have price questions you can find all these things at Musiciansfriend.com for about the same price that it is retailed everywhere else.

personally i'd just talk with jamie
at saluda cymbals tell him what you want
and he'll make you exactly what you're looking for
i think you'd be happier and for a lot less

well right now i have 300$ saved, I'm selling my old pearl export hopefully for like 400-500 with my old hi-hat/ride, and im trying to sell my tama art series for like 200. Plus my mother agreed to buy me that hi-hat for lending her like 1000$ way back when, so overall it shouldnt be too much if i can just make a few sales, i could go buy the ride now if i wanted lol

A customs are really in abundance right now. I know because I had trouble selling my A customs at Christmas time. I would look on ebay

well at that point ill have 3 fast crash's only the 14", 16" and 18", what would you recomend for a heavier cymbal maybe a crash ride or something, also Zil bells? or something like that, what are they and what do they sound like, my friends tell me i should get one

I got that set just because it was cheaper than getting them one by one and I'm extremely satisfied. I like the hi-hats although I've played with mastersounds and like the a whole lot too. I've also played with the ping rides and they sound great. Overall this is a really good set, for what I play anyway which is Hard Rock, Punk, and Christian Rock.

I own 16" and 18" A Custom fast crashes and a 20" A Custom ping ride and love em all.

thats in the price of metal. I just got an email from jaime at saluda saying that thiere prices increased. Jan 08

Yup, I work with steel, and the price has gone up like 200% over the last two years. A lot of jobs are getting copper supplies ripped off because scrap price is 2.50-3.00 a pound.
