sensitivity will not help with hits that are not being detected. Sensitivity on Roland modules only controls your range between softest hits and loudest hits- your dynamics, basically. It will not help you pick up strikes that aren't being detected.
That's the 'threshold' setting that determines the softest impact the module will pick up.
The best way to get those settings tweaked for your personal style is to read the manual section on trigger parameters THOROUGHLY.
When you understand what each setting/parameter controls, you can begin to adjust them to suit your playing style.
They interact a good bit, however, so it's absolutely essential that you understand what each setting does.

Looks like pg 71 is where the explanation of trigger setting parameters start.
Triggering will continue to be a headache unless these settings are understood and explored.
