Post Favorite Drummer?
I would have to say I have a lot of favorites. But the person that has inspired me the most and that has a style that I would like to quasi-emulate would have to be

Drum roll...

Jordan Mancino from As I Lay Dying.

Chris Adler from Lamb Of God is pretty awesome as well.

Now I have told you who I enjoy as a drummer so I ask this question, who has inspired you?

Dave Grohl. I know. A strange choice. I forget his name but the drummer for the SNL band (who's really good himself) mentioned how some drummers can play the simplist beats but the walls seem to sweat from it. I always got that vibe off Grohl. Plus, he was the one who even made me WANT TO play the drums, so I have a sweet spot for the dude. haha

Others:
Bud Gaugh (Sublime)
Brroks Wakerman (Bad Religion)
Bernard Perdie (I love watching videos of him play. He seems amazingly so happy doing it)
Smelly (NOFX)
and then there's this crazy dude that makes whole songs using only different cymbals and toms and stuff. He blew my mind. =O

almost all my favorites have been posted......one I didn't notice was:

Chris Hornbrook from Poison The Well

I don't think I need to go into this one very much, but I will say that he pretty much single handedly perfected (not created, but PERFECTED) the style played by 99% of the drummers in any scene w/"-core" at the end of it. All in a very humble manner might I add.

Although there's plenty others I love, these guys'd be my absolute favourites.

I have to say, I don't rate Hornbrook at all. I find his beats pretty dull. He's a poor man's JR Connors (Cave In) in my opinion.

ANYWAY

Abe Cunningham (Deftones)
Shannon Larkin (Glassjaw, Amen)
Danny Carey (Tool)
Ben Koller (Cave In, Converge)

I like your choice in drummers. 'specially Mitch Mitchell (I mean, just look at my name Razz) and Nicky Headon. I'm a huge Hendrix fan, and a big Clash fan. Smile
