Post What electronic drum set?
Hello everyone!
I have the TAMA Rockstar but since i can't produce a satisfying sound for my group recordings (home) i m thinking of buing an electronic drum set and using the MIDI interface, to pass the drum recording in the computer. I,ve allready tested the Roland HD1 and found it very satisfying, although it didn't have a lot of sound configuration (mabe this can change with the MIDI sounds of the PC programs). I also noticed the Yamaha DTXPLORER and looks very promising... Since both are in the same price range (800 euros) i'd like to hear from you, the pros and cons of each one... I haven't got a lot of experience in electronic drums, so any help would be welcomed!!
Thank you!!

We had a Roland set in our college man, didnt mind it, I think that Roland produce way better electronic kits than Yamaha

People tend to say yamaha or roland but I am thinking about a traps kit......

It can function as an acoustic kit with regular heads and with the mesh heads as an e-kit.

Seems like a really good idea but I can't find anywhere I can demo one.

Thank you for your answers. I'm planning to use theese sets ONLY for MIDI recordings on my PC. I don't have any problem using for practice my TAMA cause i have no neighbours. Very Happy My only concerne is wich one will deliver the best functionality and connectivity with my MIDI soundcard. Someone told me that i can do the same work with a MIDI keyboard or a drum machine as long as i have a fair source of good MIDI sounds. Is it true? If it is, i should go for the cheapest, since i won't use it on stage, but only as a pass-through component to import my music in my PC... And i found also the Alesi 5pro at the same price with the HD 1... I've just gotten a little confused... Sad

I'd say find the kit that feels the best, because once your part has been transformed into MIDI, you can use any sample you like for any voice.
