Let me see if I can figure out what you are asking
You plug in mono out (left) and cannot pan the click to one side of the headphones and the sound/pattern into the the other?
Did you try panning through the headphones without anything plugged into the output jack?
If so, then it may mean that going out mono causes the entire unit to behave in mono
That's just a theory
Plus, I am not sure that you can pan the click track to either side
My SPDS is buried at the bottom of my cases thanks to the move so it will take a few days to try it out myself
Hope this helps
That machine can be daunting until you learn how to get inside it's head

I have an spd-s and use it very heavily for the same effect it seems like you are going for...if you just run out of the left output to your board it forces the unit to send a mono signal. what you need to do is take up 2 tracks on the board a left for your click (pan it to L15 on the wave select option) and then leave your sampled sounds to the right....that is how i do it so the other guys can choose to listen to the click if they wish or they can just hear the audio sounds coming thru the other side...let me knopw if that helps, i can get more detailed if need be!

Geez...I had one of these. I loved it for sampling purposes and recording was a cinch. I ended up selling it because I ran into some financial problems and then I found out you can use it as a module for triggering. Has anyone ever used the SPD-S for triggering and how was it?
