Post hardware interface for macbook recording?
just put Logic 8 on my macbook and am shopping for a good interface; the Firepod seems to be a top contender. Just wondering if anyone wants to share their opinion on it, or any other alternatives.
Bandmate has the Mackie Onyx satellite interface, but I think I want more simultaneous inputs.
thanks!

will be using for stage and studio if that makes much differene

I recommend the M-Audio ProjectMix I/O. Firewire, 8 XLR ins, 8 channel strips, works as both a recording console and a controller for Logic. They're going for 1k-$800 or less on craigslist/ebay and they are awesome. It also has lightpipe in case you want to use another XLR input rack.

I'm using a FirePod and am very happy with it. It's easy to setup, easy to use, and provides very clear tracking.

I need to get a second one so I can use more mic's at once. My software is Cubase SE3.

forgot about this post-
I got a Firepod, it died within 2 hrs. Returned it for a Firestudio Project, which is not cooperating well with Leopard, I guess. All kinds of static/distortion, have talked to Presonus repeatedly and no resolution seems forthcoming. Apple blames Presonus, Presonus blames Apple...

Also got the Mackie Satellite, it's doing fine with no glitches, but it's only 2 channels. Used it as a keyboard interface on a gig last weekend in Nashville, did great.

Now if I could just get the Presonus figured out... Sad

M-Audio and Mackie are somehow connected and they both work great with my mac. Have you checked out all your drivers and so forth? I had to install some new ones when I cranked up the ProjectMix.

I just got myself a MOTU Traveler, 8 Jack inputs, 4 of which are XLR aswell. It's a really good interface.

Firepod is a good one. I've had mine for 3 years and no problems.

wish I could put Leopard into that equation too, but so far I'm still having trouble with the Presonus FireStudio and Logic on my Macbook. I've updated everything there is to update, but it still goes all crackly and distorted every few minutes. Wish to heck I could figure out what is causing the incompatibility.
