I recently bought some old Tama Techstar pads off of Ebay. Got a real good deal on them....$160 for 4 pads...along with 2 heavy duty Tama stands to mount them. They worked fine...but looked very "used"....not a problem since they're almost 25 yrs old. The pic below shows them...along with 4 Alesis pads...that I'm gonna run with my DM5 Module. As soon as I throw in a bass drum...and some cymbals....it'll be complete. I'll post more pics once everything is setup....and I'm done "reworking" them. I took off the hard plastic covers...and spray painted them flat black....to cover up the scuffs and stick marks that I couldn't get out....and they look fantastic. Also....the head itself...is just a standard 12'' Ebony Ambassador head. So I have 4 new heads coming...once they're on...and the newly painted covers are on....they will look brand new.
