if your looking for a loud badass crash, go for the AAXplosions (16" or 18")

130-200 around there.

I thought the Metal-x series was discontiued?

I just want a standard crash and I'm afraid that I would break an ozone.

I was thinking a 18" AAX. I might go with that.

I dont think the Metal X series was discontinued you can still find them on Sabian.com and purchase them in Musicians friend and things like that.

Arn't Vaults mad expensive? I'm sure an 18" is more than $200...correct me if I'm wrong.

Anyway I've used both the 18" MetalX and the 18" AAXplosion. They are pretty different in sound qualities but still awesome cymbals. They also both have this cool unlathed bells that just look badass as hell. Xplosions are alot more responsive, but the MetalX has a fuller sound I think. I've broken both of these, so I can't say one is more durable than the other.

emm im guessing yeah they are just a tad more than $200. well i bought a 20" vault crash for £180 from GAK.com. usual retail is £200+ and with current conversion rates of £1 to $2. but they are damn good cymbals!!

just looked it up! same cymbal is $269 on musicians friend thats really cheap!! bloody save the extra $70 worth it!

Man get yourself a AAX 18" Rock Crash, got one recently after using AAXplosions for ages, it's quite loud and bright - thick too so no danger of breaking it!

^^^Thick cymbals actually stand a higher chance of breaking.

I use AAXPlosion and AAX Metal crashes. Very versatile and durable when not over-played. If you play in really loud environment you generally don't want small cymbals.
