Hi. Newby here.
I've been checking the Meinl site but can't find any sound files like they used to have a couple years ago. I find the site really hard to navigate. I don't know, maybe cuz I'm on a Mac?.....
Anyway, do you know how to access sound files at the site or am I looking for stuff that isn't there any more?
Thanks.

The website has been revamped for 2008 but they still DO have soundclips
All ya gotta do is select the cymbal you want and it has a button next to it which allows you to hear th clip

Cool. I found out what the problem was. I had to use Fire Fox browser, Safari wasn't getting it done.
Thanks again.
Cheers!

I use Meinl and Sabian, but I'd like to go with all Meinl, they have some really nice cymbals. I like the Soundcaster Customs, MB10's and MB20's the best. Byzance Brilliant and dark are great for effects too.

I have as follows
Meinl:
16" classics medium crash
16" Amun thin crash
18" classics thin crash
18 classics medium crash
8" classics china splash
I switched 9 months ago from my a customs and my sabians and love these cymbals. I get compliments from people and other drummers at gigs about how good my cymbals sound and look from the front of the stage. Isn't that the bottom line? Sound and looks.

When I finally piece my kit together, I'm gonna have nothing but Meinls.

i had a 24" Byzance traditional medium ride.. cracked it in one practice though. Getting a new one, and hopefully will last longer. I loved it though. Pretty soon I'm going to get some 14" Byzance heavy hi hats, and some larger byzance crashes.

great cymbals. I absolutely LOVE the crashes that I played. not sure if I'd say the "best", but I wouldn't say that about any one cymbal company.
brand loyalty is nothing more than a marketing tool reinforced by famous players' endorsements . don't drink the koolaid! you will miss out on all sorts of awesome sounds that way.

I love Byzances.
Here's my setup:
20" Byzance traditional Heavy Ride
20" Byzance Jazz Thin Sweet Ride
18" Byzance Traditional Medium Ride
14" Byzance Traditional heavy Hi Hats.
The only thing that sound better to me are some of the Zildjian K Customs, but for the price, Meinl's are amazing.
