I have a pair, and I like them. I've never felt they have any particular disadvantages, but I've heard someone say they don't like having to take them off to see/adjust the metronome.
I use them in the studio a lot. I'd recommend them

I use Sennheiser HD280Pro headphones and just plug them into my Rhythm Watch. They sound better and provide a higher level of isolation than Metrophones.
