Post One man band setting?
I played on an electronic kit in my local shop earlier today, and there was one setting called 'one man band' and it was awesome to play around with.
It was a Roland kit.

Does anyone know if there is an electronic kit that comes with this for under a grand (£1000)

What was it like did the bass drum do a walking bass and stuff like that.
I'm curious because I played a roland set where the bass drum was a bass and the crash was a set of bells.

As for the price I have no idea.

Yeah sort of like that. the crash acted as a bass i think.
When you hit the rim of the floor tom it was a tamberine.

I am not sure if my Roland kit does this, but fairly sure there is something similar.

teh TD 6 brain can some in at that price range, about 700 with rubber pads (mesh snare) or 1100 with all mesh pads (excluding kick).

Be quick though as they have stopped making this model, soon to be replaced with the TD 9 brain module, and this is more expensive.

I set out to spend 1k (pounds) and ended up at about 1150, including a 2nd crash cymbal. I love playing this kit most days give me a chance to squeeze in even just 15mins a day that I couldn't before.

I do my own "one man band" with the Roland SPDS
I have actually written an entire album on it and perform live
Check out some of the other electronic threads with the SPDS

remember, any modern electronic drumset or pad setup can act as a midi controller. you can connect to a sampler/computer and whoopee! you can put any sound you want on a pad.

O.K. What does MIDI mean?!?!?!?!?! I hear it all over!!

And btw, I played a Yamaha kit at GC that did that "one man band" thing and I loved it. It was so much fun. the one I played did a sort of Big Band thing.

On my Yamaha that one is called HornsGroove. It has a trumpet "Duh daDuh Duh" on the crash and a loud trumpet blast on the Ride. The kick is a slap bass and the Hi-hat, snare and 3 toms are normal.

I can record samples if anybody is interested and hasn't heard them.

Oh yeah, to the OP about the price. I'm playing a DTXplorer that costs $700 new.

Musical Instrument Digital Interface, it's an old serial system for note date/velocity/etc. from the 80's. MIDI will never die!! It does NOT transmit audio, only tells things what note, how hard, how much sustain, things like that..
