Post K custom dry ride
I'm looking at getting new cymbals a whole new set,
That is a hi-hat, ride, possibly 2 crashes,
I was just checking out alex rodriguez's set up and I noticed he uses 20" dry rides for crashes and rides. anyones oppinion. I was also just checking out the K custom mastersounds, they seem much more bright and higher pitched then the A customs which suprised me. I want a heavy chunky sound with quick delay. I play metal and punk and stuff. I've been using A custom crashes but my second one just cracked so im kinda frustrated. Also I was wondering are the K customs like the best "set" of cymbals that they make because they are the most expensive. I also don't have a job so money is an issue, but im patient and would be willing to wait haha.

i got the 20" K custom dry ride and its easily my favourite cymbal. I got the K mastersounds hi hats as well but i wouldn't recommend them for metal. I'd go for A mastersounds. Heaps of blokes on this forum swear by them

well i noticed that the drummer in saosin uses it as a crash ride too, and my 18" crash just cracked so im upset haha, Im scared to use it because i dont wanna destroy it. So im looking at getting a new crash/ride soon. Ive noticed when other people play they ride their ride as a crash and i cant do that with mine because its really thick and sounds shitty. haha

This ride is a Pro cymbal.
It sounds exactly the way I want it to sound and feels the way I want it to feel.
It's great for crashing and accents...but doesn't swell or build-up.
I always thought "crash-rides" were more sustaining.
Understand that this stuff is all subjective.

I used it on the Genesis tribute stuff with only a Shure Unisphere as an overhead all recorded live.

well im contimplating what to get as my next cymbal, its either gonna be a crash ride or a ride, my 17" fast crash just cracked so i want something to replace it with quick sustain, and I love saosins drummer and he rides it as a crash so I kinda like how it sounds in that. He actually has the 18" and the 20" and uses em both as crashes primarily its wierd.

I happen to be selling some Zildjians right now on Ebay, including a practically new K Custom Dry Ride. I paid $250 for it about six months ago and it is in perfect condition. Right now the bid is at 99 cents lol.

Yes, it is a great cymbal. Dark and pingy with almost no wash at all. I prefer the brightness of the Ping Ride for the music I play though so I'm selling it. It's worth too much to gather dust!

The K Custom Dry Ride is a fantastic cymbal and very unique. The best price you can get it for used is probably about $200. I'm selling mine right now and there are pictures you can see:

i have the k custom dry ride, love it , great sound

change the A's into K's cause they're way better "sound and projection even for punk"and it doesn't broke as easy as A's do

take care

if your cracking a's then your really gonna crack some k customs. k customs arent really the best for playing metal a's however are great.. put plastic sleeves on your cymbal stands, it'll be a harder to crack cymbals never have metal touching metal, also every cymbal zildjian sells comes with a 1 year warranty. call zildjian get an "ra" number and mail it back and you'll get a brand new one for free.... thats right free only if its beenn a year though
