Post Sabian B8
Okay so, I'm currently looking into buying cymbals for my first kit.

It's not my only time playing drums though.

I've used a digital for about 6 months.

Anyway, I've been looking into B8s and found a pack I like (Limited Edition pack)

Would I be better getting B8 or Zildjian ZXT? Bearing in mind the type of music I play is rock/metal.

Cheers Wink

Try and see if you can score some quality cymbals used first. I see cymbals on ebay goin for great prices all the time. Also Saluda cymbals are probably around the same price as sheet cymbals and they're handmade

yeah them b8's will be grand! they aint the best cymbals out there but they are cheap and sound better than hitting tin lids.

I'd go with the Zildjians. I like them a lot better than the B8's. Maybe go Zildjian ZBT. They're cheaper than the ZXT's and I still think they sound better than the B8's.

I think that the ZXT's break quicker, depending on what music you play. But I really don't know since I've never owned ZXT's. I do really like the B8's though.

I play ZXTs at a local club I go to, and the crash broke soooo easily, but I love the ride which hasn't broken thank god (The bell is awesome) and the hats are okay. But I haven't played B8s.

I was really pleasantly surprised with my B8's. For the price I paid, I expected them to be a lot worse. They aren't top of the line, but they sound fine for what I do.

B8's are nice first cymbals. I wouldnt recomend Saluda for first time drummers since saluda cymbals are completely custom you really have to think about what sound you want and that takes time.(they are great cymbals though)

I'd go looking for some uncracked used zildjians, paistes, etc. you can find quality used cymbals for the same price or less than new beginner cymbals.

i still run a B8 16 inch thin crash in my setup they are actually good cymbals if your looking for something bright they can give a surprisingly stong sound
