A lot depends on your budget. If you can easily afford a new cymbal, I'd say go for it.

It would also matter whether or not you are a big time drummer. If you play gigs frequently, you'd probably want them a cymbal as soon as possible. If you just do drumming for a hobby, I'd wait for a while.

I'm not an expert on this stuff, but I hope this helps.

Projection Crashes are heavier weight cymbals.

I've been considering switching back to the old metal Washer and separate sleeve because I think they give a little(rock back and forth) while these Gibraltar plastic sleeves don't.

ha i have one of them i got in the end of june and its cracked in like 13 places. but it still sounds great. i know it wont for a while though.

ouch I never thought of the difference between the plastic sleeves and metal washers. I might consider the washers for more freedom for the cymbal to breath!

plastic washers will extend the life of your cymbal, i ALWAYS MAKE SURE i have them with me at all times. i never put metal on metal, thats gonna kill them quickly. also zildjian has a year warranty on their cymbals call them.
