I believe that is correct -- those are all "sheet bronze". Even for beginners I wouldn't recommend anything less than ZHT though or it could discourage their musical growth. Actually I would always prefer anything Cast Bronze over Sheet Bronze!
Sheet:

Cast:

Next in line after the ZHT would be:
Z Custom
Avedis "A" Series (bright) or "K" Series (dark)
A Custom or K Custom

A Customs are my choice, but I also play A's. I haven't had much experience with K's, but I think they are more appropriate for Jazz or funky sounds.

I found this today on Ask Zildjian:

Quote:

Q : How does one Identify which grade of cymbals is bottom and which is top of the line ? Z is bottom ? What is top ?
A : The least expensive cymbal line would be our Planet Z cymbals (only available in certain parts of the globe), then our ZBT cymbals, ZXT line, and finally our ZHT line in the sheet bronze catagory of cymbals which incorporates a less expensive form of alloy. All of our cast cymbals would be considered a top professional grade starting with our A Zildjian and Z Custom cymbals being our least expensive models. Then the cost would move up to our A Custom line, then the K Zildjian, K Customs and finally our K Constantinople line would be our most expensive cymbal line. That does not mean that they would be necessarily be considered the best, but rather they are more labor intensive to make and hence, more expensive. Again, all of our cast models would be at the same profession grade level.
