Post Gigging with an electric kit
I have a Roland TD-3 and i've had one for a while now. An acoustic kit is a bit out of my price range so i was wondering if anyone had an opinion about gigging with an electric kit. Is it a good idea?

the only way I was able to get any satisfaction from gigging w/ E's was to use the top-of-the-line modules for a sound source, and get the best pads/triggers I could find. Fortunately my band uses a really big PA- that's the other factor that matters the most, IMO- you've got to have plenty of headroom and a full-range PA to do an E-kit justice.

Another factor is the kind of music you're playing. What sort of band are we talking here?

i reckon there are a few people out there that migth swap a full kit (2nd kit with no use, or annoyed parents) for an electric kit.

I would have if I didnt need my second kit at the moment. ended up buying a roland as well.
