this dude is wicked good, and he uses the pst5's, along with a paiste 502 16" crash as his secondary, which i just discovered is the one that i have ^^

so i was wondering if any of you have them, what kind of styles you think they're good for..

they're $224.95, not bad ^^

PST 5's are pretty versatile, but best for rock, and just about everything louder than that. Very Happy

Well I can't really speak on the PST5 yet, but however I have had experience with their previous faces of the 502's 14'hats 16'crash' and 20'ride. All are great and durable. I played everything from alternative to metal at the time and they were very versatile and strong. Sadly my idot of an ex-lead singer cracked both my 16'502 crash AND my 18' New Dimendions Medium Raw Crash....and with time one of the guitar players cousins would knock over my hat stand with cymbals intack onto a rigged concrete floor...but even then it took another year of playing those hats for the top one to even START cracking and I played with David Silveria sticks at the time.

I imagine PST5 would be of equal if not better production than the 502/802 lines.

i just bought a PST 5 14" thin crash to complete my setup which is now 14" 16" 18" crashes and 20" ride all PST 5 and they mix and sound great with each other, now all i need is the hats to make the whole set, i am more than happy with these after i had owned ZBT and ZXT cymbals.

I think the PST5s are great for rock and heavier, but not much else... Laughing

Yes the Pst 5 18" China is trashy and explosive!

I have played 2002s, the old 505 series, and now I have a set of PST 5 and they are very close to the 2002's. For a budget line cymbal in my opinion they are simply the best.

Yeah I'm pretty sure thy are good for anything and the 18" china in that line is dirrty and trashy inthat level.

I wouldn't really say they are like the 2002's?

No, they are a little darker sounding but they are of the same alloy as 2002
