Post Fleabear - Screwin' around practice video
Okay people....long time member....1st time video poster. Smile The disclaimer on this video...is that I haven't really played at all in the last 4 months. I've played a couple of tunes here and there when I've gone out to see friends bands play...but other than that....my set has been sitting idle. ( I know...I should be shot!) So bottom line....I've been playing again for the past 4 years...after an 11 yr break. My band hasn't played since last July....and since last July...up until about 4 months ago...I've only been putting in about an hour a week. (once again...I should be shot!) So...the chops aren't where they were...or even close to what they should be. And I've even left in some self deprecating humor in the middle...after I dropped a stick. Most drummers would've probably edited that out....but I though it was funny....so I left it in. Smile The footage, editing...and laughing at me...all by my little bro. Comments and criticism are welcome.

Looks like a guy who knows what he's doing, just hasn't been able to put in the obscene hours that he use to. A story that rings way to true to me. I used to blast Raining Blood FASTER than Lombardo, now I have to stop half way through. Embarassed Eh, now that the snow is leaving I'll have more time to practice. By the way, I like the kit, looks pretty sweet.

Thanks for the kit compliment....everybody always likes the set! Smile I wasn't fully convinced that I should post a vid...since I've been out of practice for sometime now....but I said screw it. Most of the time...when I do practice...I try to play stuff that I don't get a chance to play in my band. I have the 4 minute pop tune drumming down...so there's no need to spend any time on that in practice.

Here are some shorter videos from the footage that made up the video I posted 1st. There are a few cool things that my bro didn't put into the 1st cut......

Looks good to me man! I too, am loving the kit. One thing I really noticed, was that your playing looks really relaxed, and not like your forcing it, which is always good. Just keep at it, and you'll be back to kickin' even more ass in no time.

Thanks for the observation. That's the main one that I get all the time....that I look relaxed. It's odd....it never "looks"....how it "feels" when I'm playing. When playing with my band....I'm more "animated"....but in the practice room....I'm just playing and seeing what comes out. Again....the whole reason behind the big set is to practice and play stuff that I don't get a chance to in the band. My band stuff...for the most part....is 4-4....and simple fills and accents. I throw in an occasional bass drum triplet here and there....but the fills and grooves are basic....just playing for the songs. Once things get settled....I'll be able to get an hour of playing in a day....which will make a big difference in the chops.
