the distance from the main bass drum to the hihat pedal look uncomfortable

x - yeah the setup for the pics is a little spread out. i haven't invested in a hi-hat attachment yet, but moving between the hi-hat and the left bass drum isn't all that difficult

nice set up. if it works for you and you like it, it's all good Smile

I know I like to play w/my pedals (hh and l-bd) right next to each other so I would say the same thing...just looks very farrrrrr to be going back and forth.

clean kit all around

Oh I do too! One of these days I'll get that attachment and knock the legs of my stand.

actually, now that I'm home w/more time to look at it you should really consider setting it up like Danny Carey (Tool) and see how that works for you. You already have two hi-hats anyway...throw one of them between your rack toms and try it out.

Aside from only seeing Carey play this setup, this is where I actually found the most info on it a few years ago...can't believe I remembered what to type into google to track it down... Very Happy

Those two are on the ground because I had to steal stands to mount that bass drum. When I get another tom stand, they are going to be mounted on the left side, just like in the pic.

Thanks for noticing!

Kind of like a choked china sound, very high pitched. I don't play as much as hats as i do like a max stack (whatever they are called). Great accent piece.

Those are both 12" Wuhan chinas. Cost me about $30 plus the stand.

Yeah both my snares like that, partly cause die cast hoops are so expensive. Eventually I'll go die cast on both sides for at least one drum.
