Post Gretsch set?
I've decided to go on a limb and replace my used Export set with a double bass (TWO bass drums) Gretsch set. Ideas?

Call Timekeep as soon as you leave the store with them. He'll fix the bearing edges for you.

Actually it was my set! I would guess your edges are great because you set is older, made back in the day that quality
ment something to people. My set was purchases Aug of 2007. I can't say I've heard anyone else having a similar
experience with Grestch like I just had, but on our forum, there have been quite a few accounts of new kits coming with
bad edges.

Keep in mind, the "bearing edge" statement was made as a joke. I hope the edge problem isn't a common concern, but
how would we know unless everyone put their kits to a flat surface test and actually inspected the edges. I would be willing
to bet, their would be more bad edges out there than good. Then PJ would be divorced in a year because his wife would
be complaining about all the saw dust he would tracking into the house.

My practice kit is a Catalina Birch kit, the edges are pretty good.

UPDATE: That set wa sin horrid condition. For the 1150 he wanted for it, both the bass drums had water damage (wtf?) on the inside ply, the snare srum had stripped lug holes, and the tom mount holes were too small for the connector you'd put in there (must've been a custom job, eh?).
