im lookin to get some new drum mics and i was wondering what the difference was between the Cad Pro and Premium mics. Is the difference big enough to matter when id mostly be recording?

Looks like the Pro is geared more towards live work and the Premium more towards studio.

Your pre-amps will matter the most. I'm using a pair of OSP mic's on my toms and I haven't seen then anywhere other than eBay. They sound pretty damn good running through my FirePod.

I have the full set of the premiums and they generally get a pretty decent sound to them. the fact that the mounts are actually decent quality is good too and they allow for really good placement of the mic. I kind of cheat with them though. most people don't attach mics to the source because of vibration, lucky me, I have RIMS mounts on all my toms so I actually attach the mic mount to that instead of the rim and there you have it, a less disrupted sound.
