Post Drumset for Screamo/post-hardcore/alternative
Hi I'm new here and kinda new to drums also. My main drumming influences are Zac from Paramore, Aaron from Underoath, and Alex from Saosin. I was wondering what kind of wood drummers like them use, what heads, how they tune their drums, and a lot more but as i said im new to drums Sad

any shells, 2 ply heads, generally low tuning. the wood would depend on your price range

seriously, if you're beginning, play whatever you can get your hands on. I concur with the 2-ply heads and fairly loose tuning.

I'm not real into the idea of mimicking people's setups, so I'd say worry less about what drummer x,y, or z likes and get down to a music store to figure out what YOU like.

Like the above posts, get what YOU feel best playing. Even when it comes to the sound of the drums, that's up to YOU and the band. Some post-hardcore groups drummers play a drumset that could be played by Chad Sexton of 311, relatively same tuning, etc. Some play ones that you'd think they found in a garbage can. It just depends on what YOU first want, and then the band.

A lot of the drummers in that drummer use Truth Custom drums.

If you're new, get a Pulse kit or a used name brand kit. Once you can play like Zac, Aaron, and Alex, then you can go get a kit like them.

Underoath Owns

both my opinions, happy playing
