lol, i would like to hear who he thinks is "special".
I really like vinnie. isent it true that on his pantera recordings he put pennies on his base drum beaters?
Freakin Joey Jordison. Don't get me wrong, he's a good drummer but come on...
How come Vinnie put quarters on his heads if he used triggers?

Probably to get the sound of the drums themselves with the click instead of the triggered drum sound.

they used to make these adhesive round plastic-covered metal disks that you would stick on the batter area of the kick drum. not sure if they still do.

Wow. He said Vinnie was nothing special and prefers Jordison.
I agree with everyone else. He's an idiot.

Danmar makes them.
They say it's supposed to sound like triggers--it doesn't

If you use them with a hard plastic or wood beater they do.

Yep, he's an idiot.
They play completely different styles of metal. Vinnie's playing is one of the reasons why Pantera got as big as they did. He always plays for the song and rips if the f--k up at the same time.

For the last 3 years I've used washers held on with double stick adhesive and no attatchments on my beaters. I use triggers now too, but it sure helped a lot when I didn't have them. And whoever said Vinnie is "nothing special" just needs to keep their mouth shut.

i was at a concert one time (don't remember who the headliner was, Saliva maybe?) and one of the opening bands was Operator, and apparently vinnie is really good friends with them. i ended up talking to him for a good 30 minutes, Dimebag Darrell's girlfriend was their to and she had a little too many drinks, haha. needless to say, they invited our band to their "place" for a party after the show. sadly we had to decline because it was already 2am and we still had a 3 hour drive. he is very nice in person.
he is a great drummer and yeah SLAP that kid!!!

Also, Vinie Paul is one of the sickest, most solid metal drummers I'v ever heard. His pedal technique is something else. Maybe people would like him better is he played at 260 BPM's
