Post reggae 
hey guys. do any of you know of any good reggae books? i know the basics to reggae drumming and can groove to it but id like to learn the style properly. if any of you would like to write about what you know or any tips itd b much appreciated.

I find the best way to learn something like reggae is just to listen and play as much as you can. It;s one of those things where the more you play each bit the more the 'best' parts come out Smile

That's what I find anyway Smile

Reggae's one of those styles where I feel it's all about learning the basics and getting your timing solid and then just doing what your groove tells you too. A bit like GOOD jazz...

I agree! There are so many great Reggae artists out there, and you can spend hours just denting the surface. Learn the history, listen to as much as you can, and just play!

Look at it this way! Most of the Reggae drummers from the 70's probably didn't have any books! They just loved it, listened to it, and played it!
