I don't really listen to RHCP but from the songs I have heard he has a good groove to his playing. I also own his snare and it sounds really good with a fiberskyn on it, kind of bright but still warm sounding.

Like most pros, he uses his signature snare but he also uses many others as well. I've heard there is a Yamaha snare he's quite fond of as well.

I actually thought that Chad was the one guy that could have played that Led Zeppelin reunion show if Jason Bonham had not. A lot of people were saying that Dave Ghrol would have been perfect, but chad has the Heavy/funky feel that Bonham had.

Chad has great feel, solid timing and can play the funk like no one's business! Sure, he's not the best of the best but he's up there, I'd say, especially in his style of music.

Chad also looks very similar to Will Ferrell.

I love Chad's drumming. Simple, clean and to the point! A great artist that compliment's RHCP to the fullest. P.O.Y!

Chad's the man. He gets overlooked quite a bit cause he doesn't do a lot of fancy fills or anything. He's all about that funky groove instead!
One of the few modern drummers I really appreciate.

you can set your watch to that guy.
I liked the peppers better when they had hillel slovak on guitar and jack irons on drums, but guy's a great funk/rock drummer.

Chad Smith had defiantly had an influence on my playing and my favorite band is probably the red hot chili peppers.

Chad Smith is a great player. He is without a doubt my favorite drummer. His groove is fantastic. Plays for the song. Not too flashy, but busts out the tasty licks just often enough to keep the drummer in you satisfied. He blends funk and rock with such finesse. He's the man.
