 White Paiste cymbals?
I saw them in my local music shop a while back. I was just wandering what they were like.

Joey Jordison plays custom white Paiste cymbals. All the white is is white colorsound coating. Just like the bluebell is blue colorsound coating. Its a secret Paiste formula. Also paiste lets you custom order any cymbal in a white or black colorsound coating at 30% extra charge.
Heres a gallery of white paistes if you wanna see some more...

I saw a Paiste black china at Guitar Center and Hit it a few times, it looked used but it sounded AWFUL!!!!!!! I don't know if it was some kind of defect or something but it was bad....

They look awsome, I've seen the white one's and two black RUDEs, dont know what they sound like, but I thought paiste has now discontinued doing the colorsound cymbals, I'm probably imagining things

I've never seen them and honestly can't see the point in having coloured cymbals in you kit, unless you have like a special theme! (Christmas kit! That would be funny - with Custom Red & White lacquer and Santa pattern!)

From what I've read, the color finishes Paiste currently use (and have used in the past on the Colorsound and 3000 lines - and maybe others) tend to give a dull, dry sound. Crashes cut off faster than the non-colored versions. Rides are dryer and have more of a "tang-tang"rather than a "ding-ding" tone. (<----what?) I prefer bright, glassy sounds with longer sustain. I don't know how you can keep cymbals with a colored finish from not looking like crap after you've played them for a while. Those old, beat up ColorSounds I see on eBay look like shit. The 1000's and 2000's look even worse....

There was a set of white Alphas in a shop a bit ago that I saw, they were part of some limited edition run I think.

I don't really see the point in colored cymbals...although the blue ride did look pretty sweet....
And i cant see it making a hell of a lot of difference to the overall sound.
But then again...
