freakin beautiful

man o man I'm a sucker for green and that green sparkle (broken glass???) finish gets me everytime. I'd really love to have my Tama re-wrapped in just that color

That's a nice snare.

It is indeed green glass glitter, brass hardware, 8 tube lugs, and triple flanged rims. The shell is a 5.5x14 solid maple steam bent one. It had a few small aesthetic flaws which is why I went with the wrap. That and it will match my kit. I can't wait to hear it!

I endorse Medicine Man drums. I am not at liberty to discuss the terms of the deal, but if I was not an endorser, I would have no problem paying full price for the magnificent drums I've received so far. They're just fantastic instruments and have held up great so far to regular gigging.

I would recommend contacting PJ directly. He's great to work with; a real professional. He'll be able to answer all your questions. Thanks!

thay start around $300. the tube lugs will be a bit more expensive but i cant imagine them rasing the price of the drum too much. also the brass instead of chrome hardware may be a factor. wraps cost money as well. I'd expect to pay around $350 for that snare

With a SOLID steam bent maple shell, glass glitter wrap and brass hardware? You might be a little low!

Yeah, honestly, this drum would be closer to the $1000 end of the spectrum. Most solid shells run about $200 to $400 just for the raw shell.

....and it would be totally worth it. I arrived yesterday Very Happy

Took it to rehearsal last night and I was totally blown away by this drum. Of course it's beautiful, but it sounded just amazing. It is beautifully articulate and warm and I have a feeling that this drum can be used in a wide variety of musical situations. I'll be gigging with it tomorrow night then taking it in to the studio on Sunday.

Thank you, PJ! If ANYONE is looking for a new snare, contact PJ. You will not be disappointed.

You really DO like that snare hey! Wink

I have an order for a snare in with PJ and I'm picking it up at DRT, can't wait!

I am one with my drums, to it's grammatically correct. Wink

Good call on picking it up at DRT. Saves you some HUGE shipping costs. What are the specs of the drum, if you don't mind me asking?

Shipping is one thing, the taxes are what bugs me most.

The snare is 13"x7" Maple shell, Emerald/black burst with black tube lugs and hoops. No glory holes Very Happy

I wanted something a bit different for those funky moments.

My snare collection will then be Starclassic Birch Bubinga 14"x5.5", '67 Ludalloy Supraphonic 14"x5", Tama Hammered Steel 12"x4" and the new Medicine Man. I like snares, they're becoming a bit of an addiction!

She's looking pretty good too! I was just drilling it out today. All I need to do now is cut the bearing edges and snare bed.

That sounds like a killer, man! I'm sure you will love it. I'm looking forward to the end of summer when I will probably order another snare. I think I'm going to go with a stave shell, but I'm still trying to figure out what woods I want to go with. In the mean time, I'll be rep'ing Medicine Man from Philly to Atlantic City to Ocean City, MD all summer. Our schedule is jam packed and the beauty about playing down the shore is that it's a new crowd every week! I am bummed that I won't be able to make it to DRT, but summer is the busy season for Reggae bands. Enjoy that snare!

Your snare looks great man. PJ has reworked two of my snares and I love the first one, the second one is on its way. I will eventually buy one of his, but for now, I will have to make due. Sorry to hear you can't make it to DRT. Hope to see you soon.
