 What is my drumset worth?
Hey all,
I am a noob here. Bare with me. I have an early 70's model rogers kit. I have had it for 21 years now. It was givin to me by my father. It was one of his first ever. I am curious to know its value, or any guesses of what it might be worth. I dont know many details about it (about the drum sizes). Its maple ply (looks like pine) wrapping? standard 5 piece set. (All original hardware)
Drumming has not been my life, but a hobby of mine. Please forgive my ignorance about drums in general. I love to play, I even teach lessons, but I am more classicaly trained that a set player. Currently I am changing that. Thank you for your help,
James

Rogers were quite possibly the best kits made back then, and can still give many new kits a run for the money. If you can at least tell us the model, or try to get some pictures up that would be great, the ploughman is the rogers expert around here.

It is a R380 kit from 1980. The value it has, will be the value you place on it because it was your dads. Other than that......... the R380 kits dont have any value. A lot like the Japanese stencil kits imported in the 1960s. They are drums, just not valuable drums.
There were your dads................ in a few years you wouldnt trade for them.

Thank you. I understand what you mean. Just like the snare drum guy who wanted to know what that was worth- the one he got from his grandfather...what was it worth? A life time of memory.
 Thank you again.

I realize some people, many people arent as fortunate as I was growing up. My dad never hit my mom. He never got drunk and tore up the house. He was home every day of my life by 4.30 in the afternoon. Dinner was served before 5. Every day. There never were any surprise phone calls from some girl that was met at a bar. My mom and my dad celebrated their 49th wedding anniversary last month. And I would give almost anyting just to sit next to him and discuss mundane things over a cup of coffee.
Its pretty unbelievable today.
