Hi all, I got very interested of buying an acoustic kit and find this "Yamaha Gigmaker" set for 420euros. Is it good for the price?
I thought buying Remo Ambassadors also with the kit, so could that kit be 'good enough' sounding?

Also my second option is, that I could buy 'Pearl export EX805" set. But I dont know if there will be any differences between Gigmaker and Export in sound.
Is it worth it to use ~120euros extra for EX kit, or is there even any 'sound differences' between Gigmaker and Export? I could save that 120euro and use it for cymbals if theres no big differences between those two kits

there will be a slight difference in sound between the two but both will sound equally good pending good heads and tuning. I personally play a high end set of yamahas and love them and would pick them over the pearls any day, especially if they will cost you less money.

Both of those drum kit has different sizes for it's drum kit such as the bass drum for the gig maker is 22"x16" and the Pearl export is 20"x16". It's now depending on you wheater you want a more low-pitched sound or high-pitched sounding drum kit. If you want a more low-pitched drum, get the Yamaha gig maker.

I've also tried those gig maker recently and they're not that bad! Good Luck!

Thanks guys! I will probably go with Yamaha and maybe use that extra cash for cymbals.
I havent found any Gigmaker sound samples or almost any reviews from the net, so I was littlebit worried of the quality of it. From Export I have heard many sound samples and they sounded nice for me, so I had those two options to go with and probably will lean more towards Yamaha because its cheaper. I would still be glad to hear opinion is it good choice

that set is a great choice. personally, I love 20" bass drums and really wish i had one on my set.

That looks interesting set too, I would get that in same price as Yamaha with seat and extra boomstand as those are included in Mapex. Would this mapex set be better than Gigmaker? I dont know if theres any effect in sound, but Yamaha has 6-7ply basswood shells and Mapex has 8-9ply, any differece to anything?
I looked those tom mounts on top of BD, is there lots of variety to change positions and tilting?

It seems that as longer Im waiting with my decicion, the harder it gets to choose which one is right. But still littlebit more leaning towards Gigmaker

Both are great sets, both are made by excellent drum-makers..

The Snare drum is not that bad... I think the Mapex should have louder sound since it has more plies and choose whatever you feel like having. Or try some Tama kits. They are good sounding drum kit and looks good too! I have Superstar EFX and just love them!
