 Can't make a decision
I have a Ddrum diablo 7 piece kit, 2-3 years old. I've seen some kits in the local shop near me and i was thinking of trading in my
drums for their's. I know the ddrums arent the best quality at all, specially mine, got them in '05 i think and thats when the drums were at like they're lowest quality. I'm not sure if i should trade in my kit for one of theirs. i've been back and forth with this for months and cant make a sound decision. I figured everyone here might be able to help me.

ya. maybe instead of trading it give it a peticure. have someone(PJ) recut(or whatever you call that) the bearing edges, upgrade the hoops and get tube lugs for the drums, and outfit it with new resonant and batter heads. just throwing shiz out there, so......ummm, don't critisize me if that sounds stupid.

that is always an option, i could understand new bearing edges if they were bad, but why would you spend that much money for tube lugs on an entry level kit?
maybe what he was getting at is that the kit in the pawn shop maybe better quality then his kit. if not, new heads and spend a lot of time tuning.

I wouldn't go so far to put tube lugs on it, but new heads make a world of difference. Check the bearing edges, see if they're true, that makes all the difference in the world.

I've put new heads on it, and it did make a difference. It's just that i know that this is one of their lower end kits and i was wondering if it would be in my best interest to buy a better quality kit to last me longer. And it's not a pawn shop, its a local Music shop. I'm trying to give it some business, they have really nice stuff, i've only recently found out about it, its a great shop.

sorry for the lack of info, didn't mean to make anyone mad. i found out from the owner, he has higher end maple and birch kits. I cant tell you which brand exactly.

I'd say depeding on what kits they are, it may be worth it to trade it in and it may not

no big deal. we just need to know what you may be trading for so we can tell you whether it is a good deal or not.
