 joey jordison sticks
ok, so i hate slipknot anyway. i heard joey jordison uses a cheat pedal, with 2 hits for every one foot hit or something, i dont even know. but my friend said her brother's selling joey jordison's signature sticks, one pair for $10. i looked em up online, and they seem to be $30 for a pair, which she said was true. are these sticks worth the $10? pros and cons of these sticks? thank you

They're Ahead sticks, they all run $30 a pair.
As for the cheat pedal thing, that's just plain ignorance.

I didnt like the Joey sticks when I played them a long while back. The tips didn't suit me. But I've stuck to 5A nylon tips forever so I'm naturally biased

They are titanium so they wont break, however this means they dont feel like normal sticks, but who knows, u might prefer them, but u can crack the plastic protective cover and that can be a pain because they have a series of titanium sticks and you HAVE to get the joey covers because otherwise they wont fit properly, they will either be too small or too big and if they are too big the cover wont sit tight against the titanium so they will crack the cover easily. On top of this the covers cost about as much as a decent pair of sticks and if ur local shop doesnt have them u will have to order them in and all that fuss. point is thats basically the cost of normal sticks so if u dont like them or the cover breaks its just like breaking a normal stick, i say give them a crack but dont expect miracles...

they're actually aluminum. titanium sticks would be much more incredibly expensive.

I hate Ahead sticks with a passion, but some people really like them.

I would buy them. keep them in your stick bag for emergencies. they feel weird, but they wont break so you'll always have a matching pair of sticks. I bought a pair a while nack, theyre around somewhere

I'm pretty sure he uses pearl eliminators. Even if thats not what he uses, I used to be way into slipknot and watched plenty of their videos. He doesn't use a "cheat" pedal.

Joey does not cheat, Aheads are made of Aluminum, they play fast, but if the tips come off, or the plastic covering cracks or gets a cut in it you risk breaking cymbals. Dose has a point, but I would stay away from them.

i have played em for about a year now, and i love em. every now and then i will play a pair of vic firths or promarks but normal sticks feel wierd now. the wood vibrates your hands, while the ahead sticks don't. i like em alot more than regular sticks.
and antiunderscore, you are wrong. their is a small taper and a long taper. which means only TWO sizes of sleeves/covers. and they are effin cheap, i get like 6 sleeve's for $10! which the sleeves last double the time normal sticks do, and with 6 spairs for the same price as a pair of sticks, that is a great deal.
a pair of sleeve's usually last me around 2 months give or take. so for $10 i am set for a year. yeah $30 is kinda expensive for a pair of sticks, but say you use a pair of drumsticks every month, sometimes more than one pair, think of how much you are spending.
buy them. end of story, even if you don't dig em, like others suggested, they are a spair in case you ever need em.
and for $30 a pair, you can easily just buy em for $10 and sell them for more than that on ebay. its a good buy.

It's all a matter of preference, but I've played them and hated them. I experienced all the things Bong mentioned and didn't like the way they felt at all. I'm by no means a power hitter and I didn't even find them to be any more durable than wood. I'd never tell anybody not to get them, but I won't ever use them again.

Hahahahaha That pedal thing is one of the funniest things ive ever heard.
Definately not true...
As for the sticks $10 sounds pretty fair...if there new!
Try em out its the only way ur know if you like em!
I broke a pair of Joey Aheads snapped right under the polyurethane cover!
And although i play metal I'm not a hard hitter at all!
Must have been a dodgy pair! cos i have a second set which have lasted ages. but don't use em anymore. wood sticks are the way to go!
I don't like the weight of the aheads tbh
