Post Cliche Musical Devices
I'm trying to make a list of as many of these as i can. Here's what I got so far:

sqeelie (metal pinch harmonics)
pick slide
chug chug guitars
reverse cymbals
the emo riff
the metal riff
big rock ending
breakdown
blues solo
wah solo
auto tune (think t-pain)
hardcore scream
whiney vocals
starting the song with the chorus or bringing it to the chorus sooner than expected
rap verse/interlude
reggaeton beat
bass slides that you hear in RnB a lot (sounds like reeeEEEEERRRrrr)
scratching (think nu-metal i guess)
"the edge" guitar delay

Any genre goes (obviously). The cheesier the better!

Thanks in advance,
Justin

i probably should've left that one out. there are certain motifs in emo guitar that i would say are abused. it would be a lot easier to play them for you so you got what i was talking about, but thats hard to do with a mouse and a keyboard.

pinch harmonics will never be cliche. chug chug is always fun

breakdowns are.
and anything nu-metal blows

you basically names like every part to a song. haha.

Fall Out Boy style dancing
Hardcore dancing
bands that sell underwear for woman, I'm jealous I would love some Rush Whitey Tighties
Punk Rock Gang vocals
after a band's set they talk to their friends while the next band wants to set up, that's pretty cliche.
bands that face away from the crowd
double bass

okay that's enough, I'm not trying to judge anything here bad, although I think some of them are bad, but I'm just saying that these are cliches that I've seen.

and a blue's solo is cliche because in every blue's song they're there. Go to any blues jams and you'll see a lot of blues soloing. It's can get monotonous real quick, but I still enjoy the blues.

Weepy, nauseating lyrics that make everyone but the writer cringe.

And yeah, big rock endings are cliché, but they're FUN! Laughing

that makes no sense. Of course you're gonna blues solo at a blues jam while playing blues songs.

That guy was ace! Quite likes me a bit of classical.

Here's a cliche, that simi quaver round tom roll with a big old crash on the end. The first one you ever learn how to play.
