Post Behemoth's Inferno- Signature Snare Drum
As a massive Behemoth fan, when I first saw this my jaw dropped. If I had $800 laying around, I would buy this. I love the Behemoth logo.

Not to mention that combining maple and birch together may not produce that great of a sound.

I wouldn't pay over 200 bux for it.

Then again, I probably will never pay more than that for a snare considering the modern marvels of studio/live technology and head technology.

for that kind of scratch, i'd at least expect a nickelworks or trick throw.

the snare system on that thing is worth $25 tops.

i have a spaun snare with one of those throws on it and i really don't think that a trick is that much better. mine has worked perfectly for me. however, i agree that everything should be top of the line for that kind of money.

His snare sound on his albums is triggered tho right? so to have his own signature sounding snare seems a bit off...right?

Dont know.

Looks cool tho....

Bit pricey tbh tho...

no, he only has bass drums triggers. he has said it on several interviews.

tribal birds? 875?! there are MANY other things i'd buy. if im spedning that much ill spend another 125 or so and get a really sweet craviotto limited series or one of the many fine brady snare's out there , maybe even a vintage rogers, ludwig, or slingerland drum set. I'm not a fan of any sort of "picture" on my drums of any kind, the wood grain or wrap will do just fine for me. now that being said I'm all for drum makers out there experimenting and doing crazy stuff to there drums like putting tribal fratboy looking armbands on there drums. cool

uh actually that is Behemoth's logo. It is a variation of that Austrian Hapsburg Family crest. They have taken out a few features of the orig Hapsburg crest and added in the inverted cross but kept the 2 headed eagle. It is a sign of power and authority.

def not a "fratboy looking armband"

you have to be a behemoth fan to enjoy that type of style

well its the same thing with the joey jordison snare, do you really think, he uses his?
so why would inferno use his snare? that thing would be triggered. 99% of metal bands use triggers.

just my thoughts,

i wouldnt drop that much on that thing.

and im sure no one here would,

i dont know what your pont is, but your pretty wrong. most metal bands trigger theyre kickdrums, and not theyre snare. what do you think someone gonna buy that snare drum and the sound coming from the snare is gonna be a triggered sample even tho its not plugged into anything and theyre gonna say "fuck, i knew this drum was triggered"

The Joey Jordison snare is a mass produces steel drum, this is a custom hand made snare from Spaun.
Joey does use his, and I'm sure Inferno will use his as well.
Almost no one uses a triggered sample for their snare. When it is triggered in the studio most often it is a recorded sample from the snare they are using.

I wouldn't pay that much for this snare, nor would I pay as much as any of the custom drum companies are asking for drums--just like I wouldn’t pay $130 for a pair of sunglasses or $250 for a pair of sneakers. I'm not going claim to speak for everyone or chastise anyone for their buying preference

I have seen videos of Joey NOT playing his sig snare, maybe it was from before he had it. Would you pay $2200 for a nine piece Medicine Man kit?

A kid in the other thread posted some videos of him using it.
$2200 was not retail price or face value for that kit, and this time next year there will probobly be Inferno snares on Ebay for $350.

Cool, thats what I thought. Plus with that assortment of sizes I have literally dozens, if not hundreds of set up options.
So I guess back to the OP, paying that much for one drum when you can get an entire mid to upper/mid level brand name kit for the same coin seems foolish.

But that goes for any drum, that was the point I was trying to make in the JJ snare thread. Endorsers are a marketing tool to increace the percieved value of something without actually offering anything more. I would say paying suggested retail price for anything is kind of foolish, there are plenty of deals to be had.

Look at buying a car--the worst thing you could do is go straight to the dealer, get a loan and drive off the lot with a new car. You trade in your old car for next to nothing so they can sell it on the used car lot for 15x what they paid for, and take out a loan for 1.5x the sticker price of the car that starts dropping in value the moment you sign the deal

Agreed, like they say, as soon as you drive that new car off of the lot it loses 25% value.

actually its more like 50% or less. Played hundrends of shows with tons and tons of other metal bands and the majority don't trigger.

$0.02

The only signature snare I'd pay money for is the Mitchell? signature snare. And it would sound damn good too.

that is a terrible stereotype that all metal drummers use triggers. I think inferno is actually using this snare. he used a snare in the same dimensions before, so i assume he is using this one now...

im not grouping anyone into a stereo type, cause i play in a metal band, but look at pete sandoval for example, he triggers,
i just dont think that snare is worth that much,

just because it has a logo,
thats just me,
but a lot of bands do use triggers or sampled drums in the studio, so i have heard.
