He's good at what he does, but i just dont like the whole idea that everyone thinks he is the best in the world.

I think he's good but his playing is not so impressive like Dave Weckl or steve gadd because the songs he plays are not so difficult...(I think so, just my opinion)

He's overrated and underrated, never rated as he should be. Sadly. Some of the stuff he does, especially on the snare, is quite impressive to be honest!

I personally think Travis is a brilliant drummer.
the drum tracks he wrote to the blink stuff are superb!
and like "drumsplus" says. we write drums to the music, thats our purpose
And Travis does a great job at that!

i like travis barker, but i dont think that he is one of the best right now.
his a great drummer, great style, and he has creativity.
but he is overrated, most the kids who say his the best and shit dont even know buddy rich. just sad.

I wish he never did the soulja boy thing.
it just made a bunch of gay ass kids(the type of kids who listen to soulja boy)
like him. and then once all those gay ass kids like him,
everyone else wants to hate him.
same thing happened with blink-182.
other punks hate blink, because non-punks like blink.
All i can say is, Travis is great, if people who look past the tatoos and sorta gangster image,
ud actually see that when he was a kid he took alll sorts of lessons for tons of styles.
and i hate when people try to chose a " best drummer" because
A. They're always gonna chose someone from a genre of music that they like.. and all others are shit
B. how can you say someone is better than someone else, its alll a preference, and there are so many different styles out there.
Just please stop hating on travis so much./ and if u are, post a video of yourself playing every single travis barker piece , ever.

Little do they know that he plays a vast majority of his bass parts w/his left foot and mixes up A LOT of common patterns between his various appendages; really only the sorta stuff drummers would pick up on. Another drummer that comes to mind when I think of Travis Barker as far as playing style and influences is The Brain (Primus after Tim Armstrong). Only in his case (obviously) he didn't have a band followed relentlessly by 14 year old girls to get his name into every household in America.
A few years ago when Primus was bigger and he was a name in 15-18 year olds (my age at the time) guys were like "man, I could drum circles around that guy, he doesn't even do anything spectacular."
Well, just because they don't record every song like it's a 20 minute drum solo doesn't mean they aren't capable of more. I mean, have you ever seen Travis do a solo? Now, this is the only time that the size of his kit should come into question. He makes that 5 piece SCREAM like he's Peart/Portnoy. Just imagine if you through him behind Bozzio's kit or something. lol
Now, I'm not a huge Blink/TB fan.....but I'm at least going to give credit/respect where it is due.
And for the last time...quit the hatin' and get w/the punctuatin'! Run-on sentences make me want to drowned kittens.....
there we go! this guys my hero.
i really respect the people who give credit where it's due! even if its not a style the like.
I often argue with a couple rush fans(none of them drummers/ or even musicians) because they say travis sucks, peart is amazing. he is good but they're just so impressed by his million piece drum set, they dont hear the little things that make a drummer great. like travis' snare work, its aweasome

If someone says neil peart is great. Theres a damn good chance its NOT because of the size of his drumset. travis is a good drummer, but hes no peart. not even close.
And if you wanna talk about snare work neil over travis without a doubt

ya neil is a lot better drummer then travis. travis might be better at something but is not drumming.

I'm not a fan of barker's solos at all. they're not very composed. he's great at driving a band tho.

Eight pages worth of "he sucks because he's more successful than me" is more than enough. Lizzocked f00!
