NICE! I've wanted to see what the black ice finish looks like. How do the VLT shells sound? The next DW's I get are either going to be VLT or the new X shell they have now.

Hi titanium, thanks. They sound big! Unfortunately I've never played these sizes in their conventional/ standard "built in bottom" configuration, so I can't do a true comparison. They started promoting their x-shells just before I received my kit, I may have opted for that on my 18" if I had known. Possibly an option when I complete the kit with a 16"x20" floor tom though.
My 14" and 18" are VLT, not the 26". They recommended not getting VLT on anything over 24".
Here's a better pic of the glass if you're interested. Basically it's "Black Broken Glass". I guess Black Ice just sounded better.
Thanks for looking.

Yeah, I've got my broken glass kit and have loved throughout the years, how it's reflected and taken on characteristics of lights of all different shades and colors. I'm thinking about the pearlescent white fade into black though with black hardware. That sounds badass to me!
