if anyone can figure out what my singer is saying, let me know. there are a couple parts that always make me laugh cuz it sounds like hes saying really random stuff that he's not really saying.

I write our lyrics (8/9 songs) so I know them pretty well. I usually don't know how they start though, but I remember all the patterns and accents.

Good point Steve. For me, my OCD kicks in, and I HAVE to know the lyrics. I even have a lyric site bookmarked so if I hear a song on the radio and am unsure of the lyrics I can check when I get home. I once thought about approaching Guiness Book of Records to see if I could qualify for a non-vocalist knowing the words to the most songs. I figure I might know close to 5000.

OCD blows man. take any anti-depresants?? They don't work...I just live with mine...

I try and sing along, but yeah I totally know what you mean Stump! We have one song we just recorded, that we've had for quite a long time. Wasn't until our singer was recording his vocal I actually realised what he was saying. I always thought he was just doing a fancy vocal bit. Razz

I always make a point to learn lyrics. It's important (for me) to not only know my parts cold, but also everyone elses' parts as well. The more you know, the more you can suggest/assist/create by hearing things. Plus, I sing as well, so I'm ahead of the game by knowing the lyrics.

this got me thinking and made me realize i've never played a song with a serious band that had lyrics to it. i like playing music thats still about the music, so instrumentals all the way.

Stay FAR AWAY from Antidepressants. It's legally sanctioned addiction. If you are so sad that you need to resort to an addiction then the best way to fix that is FACE YOUR PROBLEMS. A happy pill won't fix your attitude.

I once had to take this medication for a year to treat a life-threatening illness that had depression as an almost-guaranteed side effect. they gave me wellbutrin first, then zoloft, then paxil. those pills made me craazy, hated them and will never take them again.
