i don't know, there's something about new cymbals that sound weird. i think you have to put a few hours on em before they really open up to their true sound.

Quite a popular one on this thread, Solar cymbals, I've only played 14" hats, 16" crash and 20" ride. The ride is okay, the bell is actually kinda pingy. The crash is completely dead, there's no initial crash, no decay... It just dies straight away. The hats are okay, but not the best.

the worst crappy cymbals ive ever played were the 12" hats and 14" first act crash that came with my first set. when i got new cymbals i had my friends over and destroyed those things. worst mid range are my zildjian planet z hi hats.....to metallic. and the worst high end thing ive played would be just about anything zildjian.....i just cant stand those cymbals.......especially the one its-all-gravy said, the 14" ZBT crash. AWFUL!!!!

hmm, well my first drum kit i ever had came with a Pulse 16 crash that crashed, no life really at all. so it sounded pretty bad unless u rode on it. B8 ride was so bad, right after i got it, i sold it with the drumset. umm, wuhan 12 inch, well the one i bought sucked anyway, i know the all are different. ZBT 10 inch splash.

My school uses Solar by Sabian and it sounds like a piece of tin! They just sound so bad! I prefer using my ZBT than using those disgusting cymbals!
