 42 strand snare wire
anyone reckon a 42 strand snare wire will sound ok on a 14" by 5.5" snare?

i just put a 40 strand on my 14x7 mapex saturn and i really enjoy the sound i get out of it.

What are the sound difference between both of them? Sorry, haven't fiddle much with my kit so I still don't know that much...

youll just get more sensitivity out of it at lower volumes and more crack at higher volumes, but yeh it depends on ur snare bed
