Post Is this ok?
Guys, I need to use my snare drum for practicing in other place but I don't have any snare bag (going to get them soon, still ordering them). Is it OK if I carry it without any drum bag, I mean like carrying it in a normal bag or bring it without any bag? I'm just scared if it's going to be broken since it's new and it's crap expensive! Thanks

what he said, and wrap it in a towel or two if it has a wood finish and you're worried about scratching.

I'm not going to bring it inside a towel to school ain't I? BTW, it's a warlord Masai and I just don't want it to get broken! Or should i just put them inside a bag and put a pad or something on it?

So buy a case. Or just carry it in the box you got it in. If it did not come in a box, then get a box that it fits into.

Your drum probably stands more of a chance being stolen than scratched.

Haha... Luckily there aren't many drummers at school and they don't even care about drum stuff... So should I use the box rather than any bags? Would it look weird if I use them? I'll be getting a case pretty soon, still ordering them...

Who cares how it looks...you are protecting your drum. Again, buy a case if you are concerned more with form over function.

I would not let it out of your sight. Weather they know about drums or not, something like that is too nice to leave unprotected. Grab the box it came in use the padding it came with and keep it on you!

And yes, get a bag!

Haha... Ok, Thanks you guys. I used the box that they gave me just now and it was fine. Oh... I also told all of my friends to **** off from my stuff, just in case they are thinking to do some weird stuff on my drum... hehehe...

if your snare can't survive bouncing down a flight of stairs then its time to get another snare... you could take it in a duffle bag, wrap it in a blanket or just carry it as it is. i've done all of the above and they all work well.

Buy a case for it. I recommend Protection Racket soft cases with the fleece lining. It will keep your drum shiny and new. Every single time you pick up and put down that drum your gonna scratch it(even just a tiny bit) and it won't take long to look tired. It's like any object. If you don't care about the drum then don't bother. But weather it's soft cased, hard cased or not I don't recommend rolling it down the stairs! Hehehe

Why didnt it come with that Tama Bag? That should have been standard with that snare drum. You got ripped if it wasnt.

I didn't get any because they said it's only on special offer. But I just ordered one (not a real tama though) and it cost only for about $30. Is it a good deal?
