 STITCHES
So, yesterday I managed to cut myself deep and had to get 8 stitches.
I'm just pissed off because they happen to be on my index finger. I can't even hold a drumstick.
The stitches come out in a week, but not being able to drum is killing me.

Which hand? You could take this time to strengthen your left hand (or right if you're a leftie), in case that's the case. Could be a great opportunity, might not be as fun though.

Haha, what he's saying is you could have used it INSTEAD of stitches. However DO NOT put super glue over your stitches as they will turn into a shitty, infected, crusty mess. When you get them out they will unfortunatly still be sore for about a month.
I had to get 15 stitches on the lower inside part of my thumb a few years back and I feel your pain my friend

if you have to move the stick down a couple of fingers and don't play as aggresive until it heals...

That's a great suggestion - I was actually working on different ways of holding the stick.
Holding the stick differently I think I can manage, it's the not-playing-aggressively that will be the challenge, haha.
I'm a heavy hitter, but I guess I gotta do what needs to be done until it heals fully.
Thanx everyone for all the suggestions and actually giving a damn, haha.

luckily the pain will fill in the blanks to how aggressive you can play, just remember not to push it (LOL good luck with that)

or just use one hand, cause thats an awesome skill to have and it will really improve ur other hand. And did u guys know superglue was actually designed for the purpose of gluing flesh back together? and the way it dries actually lessens the chance of it getting infected

We had practice on Tuesday and the finger didn't slow me down at all.
I just had it wrapped up. My grip was slightly altered, but there was no pain to the finger.
I think I even played more aggressively, too.
All I know is, it's healing fine and I'm glad it doesn't hold me back.
