if your just some guy walking into guitar center or a local music store or buying out of a catalog your going to pay hat much for a top of the line kit. 600 for that renown is really cheap leading me to believe you bought it from a family member or close friend, got it from someone who REALLY NEEDED to get rid of it, or got it from someone who didnt know what they had. i know you didnt go into a music shop and get a renown for 600. sure you can find deals but out there and its possible to obtain a top of the line kit for less than cheap but for the most part, you aint gonna find a kit like this dw for 600 and you can get smaller kits, less drums but they are still gonna cost upwards of $2000 if you get them new.

yes but their are many that wood. that is actually a good price. on ebay basic 4 piece sets with chrome hardware and basic finishes go for around that price. dw kits are usually well over 3000 on ebay. iv'e only seen one dw kit for sale in a store and that was GC. i remember it vividly, $4450. i wanted it so bad, i nearly sold my soul for it Twisted Evil

but that is a great looking kit and a pretty good deal.

my favorite drummer, chris eddins, uses dw kits. theyre really neat looking. i havnt seen them tho, in any stores or musiciansfriend.

same here. i LOVE DW, but i can't find any dealers online, and they don't sell them on musiciansfriend, which is almost my only means of buying gear.

i have been to a guitar center twice in my entire life, and you people take it for granted and crack jokes about it, but that place was like my heaven.

2nd music store in my life i've ever been to. i found one in town after a gig one day, but they only had a few selections of drumheads, and some cheap guitars.

you can contact dw directly and order a kit to your custom specs direct from the factory.
