15" hi-hats are GREAT!!! I've had the same pair of A 15 inchers from the 60's (heavy bottom, medium top) for 21 years, and they're still my main pair of hats.

to me, small crashes sound like splashes.
i've actually cut back on my cymbal sizes. a few years ago, i played a 24" ride and had 20" & 22" crashes.
with the styles of music i generally play, larger cymbals make more sense.
which would be?
mostly variations on indie rock....
i do lots of riding on my crashes and like things to be really washy.
