I thank you all for your input on this. I was seriously considering a purchase of these pedals. My first apprehension was the name since, well, the word's meaning. The second was $99.95 and no shipping charges. The third was everyother part of that website was"under construction" for months. I went back to the Mike Brady wisdom of "Caveat Emptor". I decided to go with the Pearl P122TW. I got it with shipping and tax for $168. I know I could have saved the tax and shipping on Musicians friend but I wanted the money to stay in my local economy.

Zen you have my utmost respect on how you treat everyone on this site. We can all take a lesson from you on CONSTRUCTIVE criticism. How to give it and how to take it.

Thanks for the kind words. I try to be constructive, but like most people, I occasionally fall short of that goal, but I do try to make it so my input here has value to others.

You give a reasonable explanation of your view point and how others take it is up to them. Sometimes when doing so one must be an ass. Thanks again Zen and all the other members of this site fo your respect and knowledge.

don't know if its too late, but I play on a vex pro touring on a semi-daily basis (our practice space in my friends house has a vex on his kit that i use), and I must say I agree with zen. Out of the box, the day he got it and threw it up on his kit, i was amazed (as soon as i removed that useless third spring on the slave pedal), I asked him how much he payed, and he said just over 100$. I was nearly roped in, on the first day of playing, the pedal was nearly as smooth and fast as a pearl double elim, and i couldnt be more astounded. Day 2, we began practice and i went to adjust the distance between the slave and kick pedal, I went to loosen the bolt that is used to release the grip on the linkage, and its broke in half, with the other half of the bolt stuck within it.
Day 3, the joint where the pedal meats the footboard became loose and wobbly before the bolt fell off, and took a hastle to get back on properly. even later on, the springs became weak, and the pedals began to feel slugish and heavy. Further down the road, the joint where the pedal meets the cam keeps comming out, and the nuts taht hold the joint in place, have become lost. The linkage on the slave pedal broke completely, and we replaced it with some old gibralter hardware.

int closing. this pedal is a headache, and i love comming home and playing on my DW 4002......CAN YOU BELIEVE THAT!? (saving for the cobras or 5002 currently)
