I've tried them out and they're silky smooth and look slick. Another good thing is that the single pedal is convertible to a double bass pedal (i think) so if you cant dish out the 400 for a double you can get the single and then once you get more money get the rest. Its probably going to be my next pedal.

i was so pumped for theses things when i first heard about them,
pdp seemed to be doing something right!
because their new line of drums are terrible
but after all the hype i called up my local GC
asked how much they where (double bass kind)
and he said 180, i was blown away. either these things are
the prefect combination of price and performance
or something is wrong,
i asked him and he said "they leave something to be desired"
but i wouldnt judge a pedal off a gc guy
but ive heard they have a few problems
with the strength and durablity
get a warrenty

remember they didnt slap the DW name on them for a reason
time to figure out why its still a PDP

the first problem is that you asked someone at guitar center and trusted his answer. the second problem is that you relay your dislike for a pedal you've never tried based off someone else's depiction of the wrong pedal.

the pdp double pedal that is $180 is the dp602, not the b.o.a. double. the b.o.a. double is $440 and from my experience so far it is built like a tank. the zero backlash driveshaft is worlds above my old iron cobra one, the direct drive is smooth and works flawlessly, the pedal is completely silent and is one of the best feeling pedals I've ever played...and I haven't gotten it perfect yet. the dw name isn't on the pedal because it's not a dw....it's a pdp.

play one before you judge it. I actually own one. how much experience do you have?

I was recently at Portland Music Co. and asked if they carried the BOAs and the guy made up some story that PDP might be discontinuing the line because they haven't been selling. I can't find them anywhere to test them out and I'm not going buy a higher end double pedal without trying it out. GC is starting to carry Tricks though I've yet to get into a shop to see if they have them on display. The first time I gave Axis a try I was less than impressed but I'm going to give it another go b4 I make my final decision. I sure wish the BOAs weren't so elusive. I think I've narrowed my search to Axis, Trick, and BOA.

I can believe they wouldn't be selling very well. I bet some people disregard them before even trying them out because of how they look. And they do feel very different to normal springed pedals, so maybe people just aren't willing to adapt a bit. En masse I mean.

While I do believe they probably aren't selling very well, a) because they are PDPs and b) because they are a different technology, I have a strong suspicion that the "they might be discontinued line" was to steer me more towards stuff they actually carried which was DW and Tama. If I were trying to get something out to the masses one way to do it would be to get floor models out to as many high volume stores as possible to help spread the word and then smaller stores could then order them for their shops via the trickle down effect.

if they're not selling well, why can't anybody keep them in stock?

I've found them to be sold out several times at several outlets.

I'm not saying they aren't selling well, just that I could believe they aren't. I wouldn't know! Smile
