So I was doing some routine maintenance on my Cobra pedals, just readjusting the tension and setting the position of the mallets. I was tightening the mallet holder on the master pedal with a hex key when *SNAP!* the holder broke in two.
I'm sure I can contact any instrument retailer and have the holder replaced, and I plan on simply taking the holder for the slave pedal and using it as a single kick in the meantime, but my problem is figuring out just how the hell I'm supposed to get the damn thing off. When I say holder, I mean the part that you tighten the stem of the mallet into on the horizontal bar of the master pedal (perhaps there's a name for it I am unaware of?). Looking at what holds the bar in place, obviously I can't simply unscrew the sides and pop it out.
I never thought this would be something I'd have a problem with. Rusted chain, faulty tension springs, worn out pedal, all those problems I've come across in the past and fixed just fine. But can someone out there please tell me how I'm supposed to take the horizontal bar out so I can put the slave mallet holder in place of the master?

"I am" is reportedly the shortest sentence in the English language. Could it be that "I do" is the longest sentence?
