Hello, this is my first post here, although I joined a while back. I have a question. I have noticed white marks on my REMO Coated Emperor batter heads. At first I regarded them as nothing. But then I read a topic on Zildjian drumsticks making white marks on cymbals and heads. I realized that I had Zildjian sticks and used them a couple times (no, they're not Travis Barker sticks). However, the aspect making me doubt that the sticks are the culprit are the growing amount of marks on my rack tom when I have used Vic Firth Extreme 5AN's. Through a turn of events, I have obtained an Aquarian Coated response 2 batter for my snare and no marks have been made with the 5AN's. Also, I have Sabian B8 Pro cymbals and the finish is kind of cut through on the cymbals. Can those be buffed out with cymbal cleaners? I am a notoriously hard hitter and loud player. Basically my question is: Are these marks from the Zildjian sticks, my heavy hitting, the equivalent of scuff marks on clear heads or just normal wear and tear?
I don't honestly care, since I'm not in it for the aesthetics but will it end up affecting my sound at some point?
