Shalaq is completely right. What pedal you play has nothing to do with how fast you are. It's you, not the pedal.

I'll third that! I originally had the Tama HP10 and got the same speed out of it as I get out of the Tama HP200 Iron Cobra Jr. It all depends on how fast YOU are. Just the higher up ones, are not faster, they are better built. They will last longer through faster beating, where as the lower ones will get crappy and fall apart.

OK here's another thing I've thought of:
"Good pedals won't make you faster. They just won't slow you down" Smile

I highly reccommend the Vex pro touring double kick. Vex is a very promising new company with a bad a$$ pedal.

Question for those who have owned or currently own an Eliminator: have you had problems with the screw that holds the pedal board to the heel plate breaking? This is the main reason I switched to Cobras, I've had to replace the right pedal board on my double pedal 3 times. Just wondering if anyone else had that problem.

Hmmm...thanks for answering the question; it bothers me though because now I'm worried if there's something wrong with my foot placement on the pedal board. Maybe I'm putting too much pressure on that side that keeps breaking on me. I'll have to play around and see.

I just followed your link to that pedal...

I can't help but to comment on what I saw, so bear with me!

Quote:
- All Metal Construction

What else would they make it out of? WOOD?

Quote:
- Double Chain Driven

Translation: we use two really cheap chains instead of one good one

Quote:
- Triple Spring Adjustability

Translation: Our linkage is so sloppy we need springs on both the slave pedal AND the footboard side

Quote:
- Fully Adjustable Power Cam System

Translation: Putting a flat spot to keep the cam from slipping on the main axle is expensive, so we didn't and we decided to call this problem a "feature", It's adjustable, but it needs to be because it's going to slip if you're a power player.

Quote:
- Frictionless Bearing Hinge

Translation: It has cheap ball bearings in the hinge

Quote:
- Double Locking Spring Tension Rod

Translation: We put a nut on there because the threads slipped, have fun adjusting this bad boy, you're going to need pliers or a wrench!

Quote:
- Quad Beaters

WOW, an actual feature! Not a great feature, but a feature just the same.

Quote:
- Double Cam Plates

Tanslation: It has a double chain, so the cam plates have to be double as well. Not really a feature, every double chain pedal has this

Quote:
- Weight Double Spine Pedal Plates

Translation: The pedal board is so flimsy, it needed to be beefed up.

Quote:
- Force Locking Bass Drum Clamp

Translation: You'll need a drum key to put this on your drum and have it stay

Quote:
- Beater Shaft Locks

Translation: The beaters kept fllying off so we added another screw... you'll need a drum key for this as well

Quote:
- Foot Stops

Translation: We include at no extra charge what most companies include at no extra charge

Quote:
- Drum Key / Allen Wrench Holder

Translation: You'll need tools with you at all times.

Quote:
- Authentic Etched Vex Logo

Accept no substitutes! They wouldn't THINK of including an IMITATION Etched Vex Logo!

This thing is a 99 dollar pedal, and it's about as good as most 99 dollar pedals. Save your money and buy something that will last a while.

I agree with zen_drummer, this thing is a cheap piece of junk. Buy an Axis, Tama Iron Cobra, Yamaha Flying Dragon, Pearl Eliminator, or *drools* the new Trick Pedal. God, I wish I could afford that bad boy.

my favorite pedal would have to be the Trick Pro V-1. by far the sweetest double pedal ever! Compared to the Axis it still kicks ass. I agree that its no fun to just tap the pedal for that kind of speed and trying them out these things are no joke! they fly!

Do you have one?

Listen. Go try the pedal out yourself. I would prefer probably the eliminator or the DW. The eliminator is good because the iron cobra has 3 types, flexi, rolling, and power glide. The eliminator can switch into all of these and its cheaper. but cobras r still great. DWs in my opinion are easier to play then the iron cobra
