Post Zildjian crash of doom?
Has anyone seen this effects cymbal? My shop has one and it is freakin crazy looken. It's like 20' and looks like it got run over by a mack truck. It was amply named however as the sound really does make you feel like impending doom. Pretty wild effects cymbal and I might incorporate it into my set at some point.

Never seen one of these in the shops, still looking so I can get a better idea of the sound.

These were an idea by Dennis Chambers. They OCOD has been around for almost a decade now. It's got a monstrously dark sound, like a combination of a huge Zildjian Swish Knocker and a giganterous Dark K Crash. You could use one in place of a large china in your kit. They do sound really neat. My local store had one in stock for almost a year, and I'd *pang* on it whenever I walked in. Very cool piece of gear.

I do have the 20 Crash Of Doom and while it looks like it's been on the highway for a day or two, it has a much deeper crash than the higher overpowering Swish Knocker. Ugly as heck but I love it. The OCOD has been a part of my music since 2003.

I prefer the look of the Trashformer. Plus it's more innovative.

Dom Howard from Muse incorporates a 20" one of these into his set up and it gives an awesome sounds when played live.

I loved the sound but cannot see forking over the price of a Zildjian for something that I will destroy very quickly
That's why I am currently breaking Wuhans
They sound close to that if you mount it "right side up" (opposite of how 99% of people mount it)

It's a thin type cymbal with a very dark crash. The 18 inch OCOD has a slightly brighter tone, but I like the way the 20 OCOD can accent while playing it.

One of the most musical trashy sounding cymbals out there
Yeah, you get the china like qualities but it still has pleasant overtones like a crash as well
Very good mix

Those are the only hihats that I could think of with a "pearlesence purple" and that looked like chinas. Not sure how they sound but they're no longer in production.

And I also would like to get the 20" OCOD. Big cymbals give out a darker sound and that's what I like.
