are the evans bass drum skins with the muffle ring around them worth getting???

i think they sound great, but here's the problem i always have with the evans bass drum head: the plastic ring that holds the muffling ring to the drum always cracks and lets go, and then the muffling ring falls off. that has happened to me with every single evans bass drum head i've ever owned. but until that happens, they sound great lol.

I think so. It saves you from having to really muffle the bass with a pillow alone. In certain instances, you might not have to use the pillow at all.

the evans eamd (which you're refering to) are great. but like said above, the plastic does break after a while. other great heads with built in muffling to check out, the aquarian super kick 2's and the remo power sonic. theres others with muffling but these are the one i perfer to use most often.

aquarian superkick II or Remo Powersonics are better

Just started using an EMAD, no issues so far but sounds niiiice!

I took the spare ring and taped it inside the front head to add a bit of control there Wink
